Our winter temperatures will at times reach into the low 50?s in January with an occasional dip into the 40?s. The Tampa Bay area contains a variety of cultural, educational and recreational activities including The Florida Aquarium, Henry B. Plant Museum, The Museum of Science and Industry located at the University of South Florida, Lowry Park Zoo, Busch Gardens, the Tampa Bay Performing Arts Center and Ybor City. Tampa has 5 major shopping malls, including International Plaza with stores like Neiman Marcus and Nordstrom, Citrus Park Town Center, Old Hyde Park Village, WestShore Plaza including stores like Saks Fifth Avenue and Ann Taylor, and Brandon Town Center.

Lake Magdalene and Avila?s students attend schools within the School District of Hillsborough County, which provides public education in over 193 public schools and approximately 88 private schools. Overall this district is home to more than 175,000 students, with a large percentage of students continuing on in their crusade to obtain a degree in post-secondary education. Tampa is home to the University of South Florida, the University of Tampa, Hillsborough Community College and a number of technical and vocational schools.
